Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Nov 25 (Reporter) Sunday’s well marked low pressure area over central parts of south Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian ocean moved westnorthwestwards and intensified into a depression on Monday.
It lay centred at 0830 hours this morning over central parts of South Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean near latitude 5.0°N and longitude 85.3°E, about 600 km southeast of Trincomalee, 880 km southeast of Nagapattinam, 980 km southeast of Puducherry and 1050 km southsoutheast of Chennai.
It is likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a deep depression during the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coasts during the subsequent two days, Meteorological Centre said.
In a daily weather report here, it said that heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema from November 26 to 29 and in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on November 29.
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema from November 26 to 29 and in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh from November 27 to 29.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places or at one or two places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema during the next seven days and in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh from November 27 to December 1.
Dry weather is likely to prevail in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next 48 hours...////...
