Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh),Dec 22 (Reporter) Saturday’s well-marked low-pressure area over the west-central Bay of Bengal persists over the same region at 0830 hours on Sunday. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move west-south westwards and reach the southwest Bay of Bengal near north Tamil Nadu & south Andhra Pradesh coasts around December 24, Meteorological Centre said on Sunday. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on December 24, 25, and 26. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh from December 23 to 26, in Rayalaseema on December 24, 25, 26, and in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh on December 23. Light to moderate or rain is likely to occur at one or two places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.
