Chennai, Dec 19 (Reporter) The Well Marked Low Pressure area over the bay of bengal
persisted and it is heading towards North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh
coasts, during the next 24 hrs.
Met office on Thursday said the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay
of Bengal persists at 0530 hrs of today, over the same region.
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea
level persists.
The system is likely to move nearly northwestwards towards North Tamil Nadu and
South Andhra Pradesh coast during the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly northwards along Andhra Pradesh coast during the
subsequent 24 hours.
Once the systems moves towards the Andhra Pradesh coast, there would be decrease
in rainfall activity in almost all districts of Tamil Nadu.
Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall is likely at a few and many places over
North Coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry till tomorrow.
Surface winds, with strong and gusty at times, with speed reaching 35-45 kmph and
gusting up to 55 kmph is likely to prevail along and off North Tamil Nadu, Andhra
Pradesh coasts and adjoining parts of southwest and westcentral Bay of Bengal.
Fishermen were advised not to venture into the sea in these areas till tomorrow...////...
