Hyderabad/Davos, Jan 23 (Reporter) In a significant boost to Telangana's IT ecosystem, Wipro has announced the expansion of its operations in Hyderabad with the establishment of a new IT centre at its Gopanapalli campus in the financial district. The project, unveiled during the World Economic Forum in Davos, will generate 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, further strengthening Hyderabad's status as a premier IT hub. The announcement came after discussions between Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, IT Minister Sridhar Babu, and Wipro Executive Chairman Rishad Premji. The new IT centre, expected to be completed within two to three years, will contribute significantly to the state's technology sector and create new employment opportunities. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his commitment to supporting renowned firms like Wipro, emphasising the state's dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment. “Wipro’s expansion is a testament to Hyderabad's growing prominence as a global IT investment destination,” he said.
